This quote is talking about how its better to do the right thing than to do the wrong. this quote is true as with company you are more likely to fall to peer pressure as if you are alone you can control yourself. If you are alone you are also at no risk of of  getting in troublre with the law or anyone else. As with bad company you may not do anything wrong but someone else might which can cause you to get in trouble. Also if you are alone you spend less money and get a chance to meet new people. While with friends you may feel obligated to pay for certin things you otherwise wouldnt. If you are with bad company you also may be seen by co-workers or other important people with your group and while you m ay not be doing anything wrong you may be seen with your group who is and risk your reputation. If you have bad company than you will almost always go down the same path as them. where if you are alone you are the only who choses your faith. If you are to go with friends you may also be held accountable for their choices.
